Terms of service
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These terms govern the use of the QuickTranslate application and of the associated translation service. By installing the application or using the service, you accept them.
Who provides the service
Ander Arteaga (WiToArTe), Spain, hereinafter “we”.
What the service is
A Windows desktop application that translates the text of any program with a keyboard shortcut: it either replaces the text in the field itself (write mode) or shows it in a floating tooltip (read mode). The translation is generated by a third party’s automatic model.
Account
The free plan needs no account. For Pro, the account is created with the email address you give at checkout, and to sign in later we send you a single-use code. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address: whoever controls it can get into the account.
Plans and quotas
Free: 7 write translations per day. Pro: unlimited, subject to reasonable personal use; abnormal volume (automated or shared) may be limited for that day. Read mode is free and unlimited on all plans.
Pro includes a 7-day free trial, one per person. Cancel before it ends and you won't be charged; otherwise the subscription starts when it ends. If that email already had a trial or a subscription, billing starts the same day.
Quotas are counted per calendar day in UTC time and do not carry over from one day to the next.
We may adjust the quotas if the cost of the translation models changes. If the change is to your detriment and you are on a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and you will be able to cancel.
Payments and cancellation
Charges are handled by Stripe, which acts as the seller and applies the applicable VAT. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly depending on the plan chosen.
You can cancel at any time from the subscription portal: you keep the plan until the end of the period already paid for and you are not charged again.
Periods already used are not refunded, except where the law requires it or where the service has not worked through our fault. If you have a problem, write to us before disputing the charge with your bank: almost everything can be sorted out by email.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service for illegal content or to infringe other people’s rights; resell it or integrate it into another product without permission; automate the requests or use it outside the application; or get around the quotas by creating devices or accounts in bulk.
If we detect such use, we may restrict or close access.
Translation quality
The translation is automatic and provided “as is”: it may contain errors, lose nuance or misread the context. Always review the result before using it in medical, legal or financial matters, or in any other context where a mistake has consequences.
Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability: it depends on external providers and there may be downtime for maintenance or incidents. Nor do we guarantee that the application is compatible with every program: it works on Windows text fields and some programs handle them in their own way.
Ownership
The application and its code are ours; you receive a personal, non-exclusive right of use. The text you write and its translations are yours: we do not use them for any other purpose.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, loss of profit or the consequences of an incorrect translation. Our total liability is limited to what you have paid for the service in the preceding 12 months. None of this affects the rights that the law grants to consumers.
Termination
You can stop using the service whenever you want, by uninstalling the application and requesting the deletion of your account. We may suspend access if you breach these terms or if the service ceases to be provided; in that last case, the unused part of an active subscription will be refunded.
Governing law
Spanish law applies. If you are contracting as a consumer, you keep the protection of the rules of your country of residence in the European Union.
