Translate in WhatsApp Web what you receive and what you send.

WhatsApp only translates on the phone: WhatsApp Web and the Windows app have nothing. With QuickTranslate you select a message, press Ctrl+Alt+S and read it in English next to your cursor. To reply, type in your language, press Ctrl+Alt+T and the text is translated right in the box, ready to send.

What you write, translated

Your message is replaced with its translation in the same box you type in. No copying, no pasting, no extra window.

What you receive, in a tooltip

Select a message and press Ctrl+Alt+S: the translation appears next to your cursor without touching the chat. Free and unlimited.

In the right tone

Casual for family and friends, formal or professional for the clients and suppliers who message you on WhatsApp.

How to read a WhatsApp Web message in English

It doesn't matter what language the message is in: QuickTranslate detects it. You read it in your Windows language, and you can pick another one in the settings.

  1. Open the chat in WhatsApp Web or in the WhatsApp app for Windows.
  2. Select the message you don't understand with your mouse (or just the part you need).
  3. Press Ctrl+Alt+S. The translation appears in a small box next to your cursor.
  4. The chat doesn't change: the box only shows you the translation.

How to reply in another language without leaving the chat

If the tone isn't right, change it before translating: casual for a group of friends, professional for a client asking for a quote. The app translates the meaning of the sentence, not word for word, so casual expressions arrive the way they would sound in the other language.

  1. Type your reply in English, as usual, in the message box.
  2. Press Ctrl+Alt+T. The text is replaced with its translation in the same box.
  3. Read it over if you like and press Enter to send it.

Why the browser's translator isn't enough

Chrome and Edge can translate WhatsApp Web, but they translate the whole page: the menus, the chat names and every new message that comes in. It helps you read, not reply, and it doesn't exist in the WhatsApp app for Windows.

Translation extensions for WhatsApp Web usually ask for permission to read everything on the page. QuickTranslate doesn't live in your browser: it only touches the text you select or type, and only when you press the shortcut.

What people use it for

Answering customers from other countries on WhatsApp, talking to family who live abroad, coordinating with a foreign supplier, replying to guests at a holiday rental or taking part in a language-exchange group without staying silent. The gesture is always the same: select to read, one shortcut to reply.

Frequently asked questions

How do I translate a WhatsApp message to English on my computer?

Select the message with your mouse in WhatsApp Web or the Windows app and press Ctrl+Alt+S. The translation appears in a small box next to your cursor, without copying the text or leaving the chat. It's free and unlimited.

Do I need a browser extension?

No. QuickTranslate is a Windows app, so it works the same in WhatsApp Web on Chrome, Edge or Firefox and in the desktop app, with nothing to install in your browser.

Doesn't WhatsApp translate messages already?

Only in the phone app, and only the messages you receive. WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web have no translation, and no version translates what you write before you send it.

Does it work in WhatsApp Web and the Windows app?

Yes, both. QuickTranslate works on the Windows text box, so it doesn't matter whether you use the desktop app or WhatsApp Web in your browser.

Does it read my chats?

No. It only acts when you press the shortcut, and only on the text at that moment. We don't store what you translate.
